The following steps are recommended for resolving issues between occupants at Westwood:
Knock on the door and ask for cooperation in resolving the issue if you are comfortable and feel safe doing so.
Contact the unit’s owner or designated agent. The owner is required to provide contact information to adjacent neighbors for rentals. If you are not comfortable doing this then do one or more of the following.
Contact Westwood’s manager during working hours about your concerns.
Contact the police. Call 911 for emergencies, or 208 265 1482 for non-emergencies.
Contact the police immediately in situations involving violence, serious injury, or property damage.
Formalize your complaint by submitting a report to Westwood’s manager with this form. Complaints about short term rentals entered this way will normally be forwarded to the Sandpoint Planning Department. The form ensures we capture all of the information needed.
After submitting the form you should receive a copy as it is sent to the manager by email. The manager will review your report and distribute it as necessary.
If the Board of Directors chooses to, it will send a Notice of Violation to the responsible owner. The matter will be scheduled for discussion at a meeting at least 30 days in the future. The owner will be advised of the meeting and made aware that fines may be assessed.
Westwood’s manager maintains a record of owner infractions. Previous incidents may be considered in determining patterns of behavior and whether a fine is warranted.
